Peter Vierno, Ph.D. has dedicated his career to providing the necessary support to families so their child with a disability develops the skills necessary to live as productive members of their communities. His experience includes working as a classroom teacher at two different high schools and as a district-wide Transition Coordinator, all in the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
Dr. Vierno earned his Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from North Carolina State University’s School of Education. His dissertation focused on analyzing the extent to which schools provide appropriate transition planning for students with disabilities.
He has extensive experience working with families to coordinate adult services they would need when their child exits high school. He also has a wealth of knowledge in how to instruct students with disabilities using evidence-based practices related to secondary transition.
